Iratxe Serna Bermejo

Iratxe Serna Bermejo is a PhD student in the Language Acquisition in Multilingual Settings programme under the supervision of Professor David Lasagabaster Herrarte at the University of the Basque Country. She obtained her bachelor´s degree in Early Childhood Education in the field of Early Introduction to Languages from the university of Deusto (2016). She also holds a master´s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the International University of La Rioja (UNIR) (2017). During her studies Iratxe has also worked as a Spanish teacher in a private language school with foreign students of diverse ages from all over the world. Her current PhD thesis revolves around English Medium Instruction (EMI) at University, focusing on three main aspects: interaction, code-switching and motivation.
